Greetings to all Sorors, Brothers, Amicae, Youth and Guest:

Thank you for visiting the official website of the Michigan State Organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. We invite you to explore our site and learn more about us. We believe that the information contained here is sufficient for you to gain a good overview of who we are and what we do.

We are grateful to our wonderful Founders who over 88 years ago envisioned a great sisterhood based on the principles of Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, Service and Sisterly Love. The Michigan State Organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has reached forty one (41) years of service through hard work, dedication and vision. You are our “Torchbearers of a Legacy.”

We will continue to build on our legacy of service by continuing to embrace Z-HOPE, Zetas Helping Other People Excel (through mind, body and spirit). Z-HOPE is a holistic multi - dimensional outreach program designed to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health promoting life style choices. Volume I and II has over 300 programs for chapters to implement in various communities. “Continue to enhance your community
through Z-HOPE”.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was organized at Howard University on January 16, 1920 as the result of encouragement given to the five Founders by Charles Taylor and Langston Taylor, members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. who felt the campus would profit from the development of such an organization as sister to the Fraternity.

As a result, Sorors Arizona Cleaver, Viola Tyler, Myrtle Tyler, Pearl Neal and Fannie Pettie the Founders of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; along with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. became the ONLY Greek-letter sister and brother organization sharing a joint constitution.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. enjoys many FIRSTS: the chartering of chapters in Africa in 1948, the forming of an adult auxiliary group, the Amicae (Friends of Zeta), and the formulation of youth auxiliary groups -- the Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes.

Let’s move forward together!
